The origin of the term 'Golden Section' is linked to the Greek use of this formula, which was used to calculate harmonious proportions between the parts of buildings or statues representing human figures.

Here is a concrete example: Leonardo da Vinci, inspired by Vitruvius, created the famous 'Vitruvian Man,' in which the ratio between the total height and the height from the belly to the ground is approximately 1.618.

In the design industry, the Golden Ratio can be applied in many ways. One of the best known techniques is the 'rule of thirds,' which consists of dividing the work area into three vertical and horizontal parts. The points where these lines intersect become key focal points.
